Cali Dreaming...complete with In-N-Out burger & paragliding.
Land. First stop, In and out burger, second stop, paragliding at Torrey Pines Gliderport over Black’s beach in La Jolla , third stop, Stone Brewing Company. All in all, a couple of productive hours after landing in San Diego (affiliate) for these two travelers and their personal tour guide Erica. I will not go into detail about In and Out as I assume most people have experienced the west coast fast food chain. I am not the biggest fast food fan but In and Out is definitely better than the golden arches and worth at least once experience of indulgence. Onto the more important activity of the day, paragliding at Torrey Pines Glider-port in La Jolla. I am definitely the more fearful member of the group as Michele has bungee jumped, climbed a bridge and scaled a building, but I have been known to Sky Dive and Zip-line. As I signed my life away via the waiver I admit this activity terrified me at first. What made me relax was the fact that the flight would be tandem with an experienced pilot. My pilot after initially messing with me definitely made me feel more comfortable. If you ever wanted to know what it felt like to fly this is the next best thing. Hanging out at the Glider-port it’s self is also pretty great. If you are not feeling brave you can definitely come out enjoy the view and watch your friends while enjoying live music or grabbing a snack.
The photos we have honestly do not do the view of the shoreline of Black’s beach justice. It definitely is one of the most impressive shorelines I have seen in California. All in all the pilots are awesome and the staff is friendly and helpful. This was an amazing experience and I am glad that I didn't chicken out. Stop three was very important after the adrenaline rush from paragliding. We headed to Stone Brewing Company and each tried one of their brews. I am a fan of amber beers and red ales so I tried the Stone Levitation Ale and I must say it was excellent. The location is awesome complete with an outdoor beer garden and store where you can purchase Stone beer to go. They also have a full menu and although we did not enjoy the food due to stop #1 the menu looked incredible. The weather was beautiful and it was an excellent day to sip beer outdoors.
