New year, new countries, new cities, and new adventures.
I left the country once in 2014 which is an all time record low. So far 2015 is shaping up to be a very well traveled year. I will have traveled to or from four different countries, four states, eight different cites. I will also have been to the Taj Mahal, Burg Kalifa the tallest building in the world, and the Space Needle in Seattle. Just another random January. My mind is blown just thinking about this whirlwind of trips.
It all started with planning a Christmas trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic that had been three years in the making with Michele's sister, her husband and kids, who I call the Ninja's. This was booked after MIchele's first trip to India in June and at the time there was a slight possibility of Michele heading back to India for work but nothing was definite. I stated many times that if she was going back I was going. Why not, right? I had never been and it's a once in a life time trip.
Fast forward to October. My company was acquired by another publishing company and my team moved over to the new company. Ensue madness as we move to the new company and begin to transition during our busiest time of the year. Then all of a sudden it is the end of October and India becomes definite. Next stop Indian Consulate to pick up my Visa. It is now happening and so very real.
Enter December. Christmas trip on the horizon as my team meets with our new boss who decides we will need to head to Seattle for training after the holidays and before my big trip to India.
Are you still following me? It's all a bit confusing so let me break it down. January 3rd, land in NYC from Punta Cana. January 5th, back to work in frigid NYC. January 11th, a mere eight days later take off for a week of training in Seattle. Back to NYC on a red eye out of Seattle on January 15th. Land in NYC on January 16th the very morning of the day Michele is scheduled to fly to India. Monday, January 19th through Friday, January 23rd work diligently while battling jet lag and head to the airport for my red eye to India through Dubai on January 23rd. Finally land in India on January 25th. Are you dizzy yet? I admit I am a bit.
Basically in the month of January I will be home in NYC for a total of two weeks. Don't get me wrong this is definitely not a bad problem to have, and I am not complaining. It's just that it is a bit insane. I can not say I have ever traveled this much back to back let alone in one month. I am a very lucky girl and I am making up for all the years when I worked and didn't travel. All the years in school when there were no spring break trips because I had to work. I know it sounds a little dramatic but it seems that traveling the world is what I have been working towards my entire life. I look forward to this month of madness, sightseeing, planes, trains and, automobiles.
